PARTICIPANT GUIDE

Part I. What you need to do

1.         Project topic
General aim of the project to draw attention to climate change, to develop new methods of raising awareness. We are going to create a platform in youth groups for saving our world.
You are more than welcome to help us with your experience, suggesting or organizing any activities.

2.         Participants
It is urgently and very important for us to know as soon as possible the list of persons involved.

3.         Application form
We underline the importance of having filled the application form by the participants. Knowing specific information’s about each of you, as gender, age, special needs or your expectations can improve a lot the quality of the project.
Please send the application form as soon as possible.

4.         Accommodation
For the good development of the project and for knowing each other better you will be accommodated with people from different countries.
Please inform us if you are ok with this; also we need to know if there are any couples in your groups.
The place you will be accommodated it is named “Pensiunea Hanul Izvor”, there are rooms of 2, 3 or 4 beds. Wireless will be available in the restaurant where we eat.
Please bring your own towels, soap, shower gel and so on.

5.         Transport issues
You have to decide the way of your transportation and e-mail us your decision. Before purchasing, wait for our agreement.
You can start buy your flights 1st of August, but keep in mind that as the time is passing the flight tickets get more and more expensive.
If you arrive in Romania by plane you don’t need to worry about transfer BucharestGalati, we will attend you with travel choices.

6.         Reimbursement
The good news is that we will make the reimbursement during the project if you will have all the documents complete: ID card, boarding pass/ bus ticket/ train ticket/ flight receipts.
About this issue you have attached a reimbursement agreement, be aware of it during your travel.

7.         Your contribution
We are open to any suggestions. If you feel to get involved please let us know and we will immediately take you in consideration.
Each team has to prepare a statistic about their country environmental status.
Please send us this document via email before the project or have it prepared.
Each one of the participants should prepare some photos that are illustrating environmental problems in his own country and solutions to it / actions / campaigns organized regarding global challenges.
Also, you have to make a contact list (e-mail) of environmental Public Institutions / Governamental and NGO’s dealing with ecology, we will contact them in order to make visible the training course ECO Wave.
During the project, some participants will attend TV shows, radio or interviews. Have one of the members of your team prepared with a speech about your NGO.

 8.        International evenings
As it is planned, you will represent your country together to another nationality. As for the time, you will have available about 15 minutes. You can bring power point presentations but I would suggest you to be more interactive and original; as the people are already tired after day activities it might be better not to bore them.
Please don’t forget to bring info about your country, music, drinks and special food.

9.         Weather
I will let u know you about temperature but closer to the project. October in Romania is usually an autumn month. So, in any case u might want to bring your umbrella.

10.       Currency
The money we use is LEI.
1 EUR = 4,5 LEI (may vary depending on day).
In the airport the exchange is not very good so it’s better for you to change only for the bus/ train ticket.
When you get in Galati, we will help you to exchange the amount of money you want.
